Improve Multi-Channel Measurement Flexibility with the Hioki LR8450-01
As testing environments become more complex, engineers and maintenance teams increasingly need data loggers that can capture many signal types at once, work reliably in noisy environments, and reduce setup time in the field. The Hioki MEMORY HiLOGGER LR8450-01 is designed to meet those demands by combining high-speed sampling, wireless expansion, and multi-signal measurement in one portable platform. Hioki positions the LR8450-01 as a 1 ms sampling portable logger expandable to 330 channels using a mix of plug-in and wireless input modules.
One of the LR8450-01’s biggest advantages is its flexibility. Hioki states that the instrument can measure multiple analog signals and CAN / CAN FD data in a single unit, allowing users to record temperature, voltage, current, resistance, strain, and vehicle or control communication signals together on one system. This makes it useful for applications where engineers need to correlate electrical, thermal, and mechanical behavior during testing or troubleshooting.
The LR8450-01 is also designed to simplify difficult installations. Hioki highlights its wireless LAN capability, which allows users to collect data from wireless modules installed in dispersed, remote, or confined locations where cabling would otherwise be difficult. Up to 7 wireless modules can be added, and Hioki notes that this approach helps minimize wiring issues and reduce cable length in environments where physical access is limited.
For dynamic measurements, speed matters. Hioki specifies that the LR8450-01 supports sampling speeds up to 1 ms, making it suitable for sensor outputs such as pressure, vibration, strain, and other changing signals. The platform can also directly connect strain gauges and measure strain signals at up to 1 ms intervals, which is valuable for automotive, robotic, and moving-component evaluation.
Another important strength is noise resistance. Hioki explains that the LR8450 is designed to significantly reduce the effects of high-frequency noise, allowing more stable logging even in high-voltage and high-frequency areas such as around inverter motors, batteries, and related power electronics. This improves confidence in temperature and signal logging where conventional loggers may show unstable or shifted values.
Hioki also supports broader measurement workflows through Gennect Space, software designed to centralize instrument data, simplify setup, and unify multiple instruments on one timeline. For teams managing larger test environments, this can reduce setup effort while improving visibility across the full measurement process.
For engineers working in automotive, battery, industrial equipment, and advanced product development, the Hioki LR8450-01 offers a practical solution for synchronized, multi-parameter data acquisition. Its combination of wireless flexibility, broad signal support, fast sampling, and strong noise resistance makes it a strong fit for both lab and field measurement applications.
