When electricians and maintenance teams troubleshoot leakage current problems, speed and safe access matter just as much as measurement accuracy. One of the CM4001’s biggest advantages is ease of use in real maintenance environments. The meter also supports frequency measurement from 40.0 Hz to 999.9 Hz, includes an AC inrush function, and provides max, min, and average recording functions for more complete field diagnostics.

Another practical strength is digital connectivity. With the optional Wireless Adapter Z3210, Hioki says users can transfer measurements to smartphones or tablets using the free GENNECT Cross app, create reports with field photos and notes, and input values directly into Excel files. The app also supports display of current harmonic levels up to the 30th order, along with content factor and total harmonic distortion ratio.

Despite its compact body, the CM4001 still offers a φ24 mm jaw diameter, making it suitable for clamping thicker wires and double wires with narrow spacing. For maintenance professionals who need a practical tool for leakage current testing, earth leakage troubleshooting, and general current checks, the Hioki CM4001 offers a strong combination of portability, usability, and diagnostic efficiency.
