Transducers & Mounting Kits - DV Power

To conduct a motion analysis of a circuit breaker, a certain type of transducer is needed. Together with DV Power testing instruments, transducers help a user to check the breaker’s mechanism and its behavior during the operations of opening and closing. In this way, the performance of the circuit breaker can be precisely evaluated.

The measurements can be done by using a linear or rotary transducer. The linear transducer reads the length in inches or centimeters, while the rotary one reads the movement in degrees and a user needs to convert it to length. DV Power supplies DV Win software with its instruments which automatically converts the readout of a rotary transducer.

If one mechanism is operating all three phases, then only one transducer is needed. In another case, when one mechanism for each phase exists then one transducer should be used for every mechanism.

The transducer mounting kit is a set of tools designed for mounting analog, digital, rotary, or linear transducers on various types of circuit breakers. A user is usually allowed to mount transducers on accessible parts of the circuit breaker’s mechanical linkage.

These mounting kits are designed as a fixation tool for rotary digital and analog transducers:

• Novotechnik IP6501-A502

Novotehcnik rod type and side-actuated linear transducers TR, TLH, or LWG series can be used with these mounting kits.

The Doble transducer adapter is particularly helpful when a user needs to connect the Doble transducer to DV Power circuit breaker analyzers.
